The Ware County Lady Gators put together a strong effort Tuesday night in the Swamp but came up just short in a 10-7 loss to the Perry Lady Panthers in a Region 1-AAAA matchup.
The Lady Gators were swinging the bats well, finishing with 13 hits on the night. Ella Musgrove led the way at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and a single. She provided a spark early and kept the momentum going throughout the game.
Ware County tied things up in the fourth inning thanks to a string of base hits from Musgrove, Ashlyn Jacobs, and Amberley Padgett. Padgett came through in the clutch with a run-scoring single to even the score at 4-4.
Padgett would finish with three RBIs, helping drive the middle of the Lady Gators’ lineup. Jacobs and Cassidy Lee also added multiple hits in the contest, keeping pressure on the Perry defense.
In the circle, Kayleigh LeMay competed tough against a deep Panther lineup, working five and two-thirds innings and picking up three strikeouts.
While Perry’s bats ultimately proved the difference, the Lady Gators showed fight and resilience until the final out—promising signs as region play continues.
Next up, Ware County heads on the road for a Region 1-AAAA matchup against Warner Robins on Thursday.
