Waycross, GA - The Ware County Gators flexed their offensive and defensive strength Friday night at Memorial Stadium, outpacing the visiting Lincoln Trojans from Tallahassee by a final of 42-9.

Key Moments & Stats

  • The Trojans opened scoring in the 1st quarter with a short rushing touchdown, but missed the extra point, giving them a 6-0 lead.

  • Ware County responded quickly. The Gators tied it up 6-6 when senior Tayshaun Franklin broke loose for a 73-yard rushing touchdown.

  • Worcester pushed in front with a second quarter scoring spree. Franklin struck again, this time a 50-yard rushing touchdown.

  • Running back Jamir Boyd also had a strong game, scoring rushing touchdowns, including a short 2-yard and a 4-yard run in the 2nd quarter.

  • By halftime, the Gators led by a comfortable margin and never looked back. The Trojans managed only a field goal after their first score and could not mount a serious comeback.

  • Ware County’s offense was led by its rushing attack. Jamir Boyd (Sr.) is averaging 101.8 yards per game, and Franklin is right behind, averaging about 90.3 yards per game.

  • On the receiving end, senior wide receiver Jamario Rice is a standout-he’s averaging 81.3 receiving yards per game.

  • Defensively, Ware County limited Lincoln’s opportunities, forcing turnovers and keeping the Trojans largely in check after the opening drive.

With this win, the Gators improved to 5-0 on the season. Lincoln falls to 2-2.
