The Ware County Lady Gators Varsity Softball team traveled to Camden County on Monday, August 25, 2025, to face the Wildcats. Despite an early spark, the Lady Gators fell by a score of 11-3.
Ware County jumped ahead in the first inning when Mattie Forsyth ripped a double that brought home two runs. Camden quickly answered in the bottom of the inning, taking advantage of a defensive miscue to even the score at 2-2.
The Wildcats inched ahead in the second inning and then broke the game open in the third, putting together a five-run frame that shifted momentum firmly in their favor.
Kayleigh LeMay got the start in the circle for Ware County, while Chelsey Riggins pitched for Camden. LeMay and the Gators battled, but Camden capitalized on mistakes to extend their lead.
Offensively, Forsyth and LeMay led the way for Ware County. Forsyth drove in two of the three Gator runs, while LeMay collected a pair of hits to pace the lineup.
For Camden, Addison Spencer sparked the offense from the leadoff spot with three hits, and the Wildcats played clean defense to help secure the win.
