The Ware County Lady Gators made the most of their trip to Cordele on Saturday, August 16, 2025, by securing two impressive victories. In back-to-back games, the Gators showed explosive offense, steady pitching, and great defense as they defeated Bainbridge in the opener before grinding out a tough win against Dodge County on Saturday.

Game One: Ware County 12, Bainbridge 4

The Lady Gators set the tone early against Bainbridge with an incredible nine-run first inning. The offensive surge included a little bit of everything: patient at-bats, extra-bases stolen, and even some help from Bainbridge miscues.

The biggest swing of the inning came off the bat of Addi Pittman, who thrilled her teammates and fans alike with an inside-the-park grand slam. Pittman’s hit cleared the bases and gave Ware a commanding cushion right out of the gate. Walks drawn by Mattie Forsyth and Kayleigh LeMay, an RBI double by Ella Musgrove, and a pair of runs scored off errors also contributed to the outburst.

The Lady Gators weren’t finished. In the second inning, LeMay roped a triple down the right-field line and later scored on a sacrifice fly from Cassidy Lee. Forsyth added to the lead in the third with a groundout that brought home yet another run, pushing the advantage to 12-0.

On the pitching side, Ware showed depth in the circle. LeMay opened the game with a clean inning, striking out one without allowing a hit. Forsyth came on in relief and picked up the win, striking out three batters across three innings of work while not allowing an earned run. Defensively, Ware turned a sharp double play to halt the Bainbridge momentum.

At the plate, Padgett stayed hot with a 2-for-2 performance to pace the offense, while Bainbridge was led by leadoff hitter Katelyn Williams, who tallied two hits in three trips. Despite a late push from Bainbridge, Ware’s dominant first three innings proved more than enough to secure a 12-4 victory.

Game Two: Ware County 4, Dodge County 2

The second contest of the day provided a very different test for the Lady Gators. Whereas the opener was decided early, Ware had to battle until the final inning against Dodge County.

Dodge struck first in the opening frame when Gabby Robinson drove in a run with a single. The score stayed tight until the bottom of the fourth, when Forsyth came through again, this time with a game-tying RBI single up the middle.

Dodge briefly grabbed the lead back in the fifth, taking advantage of a double play to go up 2-1. Amberley Padgett worked a bases-loaded walk to tie the game, Kallie Lairsey was hit by a pitch to force in another run, and an error allowed a third run to score. Just like that, the Gators took the lead by a score of 4-2, a lead they would not surrender.

Forsyth not only delivered at the plate but also earned her second win of the day in the circle. She threw five innings, allowing just two hits and striking out four. Lairsey and Forsyth each tallied RBIs, while the defense once again turned a key double play to stall Dodge’s momentum.
