Superintendent's Message

I would like to thank the Ware County Board of Education, community, parents, and students for giving me the opportunity to lead our school system. It is a monumental task, but I am committed to leading our students to success.

Education constantly evolves with technologies, mandates, programs, ideas, and initiatives. These paradigms shift frequently, and we must remain cognizant of these changes. However, we must never lose focus on educating each and every child. Determining what is best for students will be the primary consideration for every decision made under my administration. By establishing appropriate relationships and providing the resources necessary, we will educate each student in a healthy, safe, and academically-challenging environment. System goals focusing on Student Achievement, Operations and Finance, Human Resources, and Community Involvement are in place as a guide for conducting our daily operations. We will continue to monitor and assess these goals as we move our district forward.

The safety of our students and staff members remains our number one priority. The Ware County School System Police Department will work in conjunction with local law enforcement and emergency management agencies to provide the safest learning environments for students and staff. All Ware County schools have a School Resource Officer on campus.

Our schools are committed to strengthening the home-to-school connection. We believe that your support and involvement has the most positive impact on your child’s learning. If you have not signed up for our Parent Portal, please contact your child’s school to register. This is an effective tool for you and your child’s teacher to communicate about your child’s progress and grades.

We are blessed to have the great schools, dedicated educators, and engaged stakeholders we have in Ware County. I am honored to serve as Ware County Schools Superintendent and look forward to working alongside you as we foster a culture of excellence.

Sincerely,

Bert Smith
