Dear Students and Parents, 

On behalf of the Ware County Board of Education, faculty and staff, I want to welcome you to the Ware County school system and the 2012-13 school year. As your Superintendent of Schools I want to emphasize the high standards and expectations we have set for our school system. I believe there is no higher calling in America than the education, care and well being of our young people and the reason is clear. Our young people will determine the quality and character of future generations. In my opinion, to be truly successful, education must be a partnership between schools, parents, students, and the community at large.  Public education has been one of the cornerstones of our country's Democracy.  It is critical that we have a well educated citizenry to insure that democracy and our economic future.  The need for a college and career ready education has captured the nation’s attention and taken on a sense of urgency. I urge you to make the decision to be a contributing member of the Ware County School System partnership.

 I want to encourage you to review our system website, calendar and school handbooks as we begin the new year. We feel these resources will provide guidelines that will help you and your student(s) to meet the standards in academics, conduct, and co-curricular activities within the school district. I am confident this study will enrich your family’s school experience.

Recognizing that a quality education is not merely a destination but a journey, I want to challenge us all to use our talents wisely, be positive, and settle for nothing less than our very best effort. Making responsible decisions, with our children’s best interest at heart, will lay and build on the foundation of excellence we want to establish in Ware County. In closing, I want to express my personal appreciation to our parents and community for entrusting us with your student’s development.
