    The mission of Family and Consumer Sciences Education is to prepare students for self, family, and careers and is open to all students at Waycross Middle School.  The curriculum follows a traditional FACS curriculum to include areas of self and family, foods and nutrition, clothing care and recycling, home management including budgeting, and careers.  Each grade level “builds” from the previous year’s instruction.  As an extension of classroom, students will complete a home project in one of the above areas.  Guest speakers and parents are invited to the classroom to share their areas of expertise in FACS.  Previous guest speakers sharing their careers have included bankers, caterers, interior decorators, day care instructors, etc.  Parents visit and with assistance from their child, prepare favorite family recipes.  FACS is a life skills class.  We welcome the opportunity to work with  your child to benefit self, family, career, and community.
