Our second graders learn to use a variety of resources such as
encyclopedias, Internet, and books to research and share information
on a topic. They also practice using word parts to determine
the meaning of words. These students are also working on recognizing and
applying the appropriate usage of homophones, homographs, antonyms,
and synonyms.
Math is
harder than last year, but we still love it! Adding and subtracting numbers with up
to three digits and regrouping is sometimes tricky, but we can
check our work using the inverse relation between addition and
subtraction.
