Welcome to Ruskin Elementary
Ruskin
Elementary School located on the Valdosta Highway in the western
portion of Ware County serves the communities of Ruskin, Emerson Park,
Manor and Garlington Heights. Areas of concentration include advancements
in technology, improving teaching strategies, and implementation of
character education. Training for teachers on strategies and methods
to improve student achievement using Classworks, Lightspan, and
Thinkgate computer programs and purchasing materials to implement a
successful Accelerated Reader program are the focus of technology
improvements.
Techniques utilized to improve overall instruction include Direct
Instruction, Reading
Recovery, adopting an integrated
language arts textbook, after- school tutoring, and additional math
instruction.
