Outstanding students from every school in the Ware County School System were awarded certificates, pins, letters, and jackets for earning points by participating in extracurricular academic competitions throughout the local system and at the district and state level at the Academic Boosters Ceremony held Monday evening at the Ware County Middle School auditorium. A highlight of the evening was honoring two veteran educators, Debbie Arnold and Ruth Baker, who will retire this year. Dr. Joseph C. Barrow, Jr., Ware Superintendent, presented them with clocks to honor the time they have given to students through the Academic Booster's club.
Among the many recognized were students recognized as high point winners from their individual schools. These included Emily Williams, Center Elementary; Garrett Musgrove, Memorial Drive; Aubrey Youmans, Ruskin; Alexandria Weekley, Wacona; Hunter Dorminey, Waresboro; Shaina Hughes, Williams Heights; Bryce Bennett, Ware County Middle; Lexi Price, Waycross Middle; and Zubair Akram, Ware County High School.
