    Ware County Middle School’s Junior Miss 2008 Crowned  
Following her final walk as the Ware County Middle School’s reigning Junior Miss 2007, Kelsey Hullett crowned Brittany Tanner Junior Miss 2008 at the pageant held on Saturday, February 16, 2008. Also honored were Haley Thrift, 1st Runner-up; Desiree’ McGahee, 2nd Runner-up; Maggie Delk, 3rd Runner-up; and Lauren Dial, 4th Runner-Up. “The twenty-eight contestants were all beautiful in their evening gowns,” said Stormy Mayfield, pageant coordinator.
A tie in the preliminary competition yielded eleven, instead of the usual ten finalists. They were Britney Roberson, 8th grade; Anna Delk, 7th grade; Brittany Tanner, 8th grade; Desiree’ McGahee, 8th grade; Haley Thrift, 7th grade; Lauren Dial, 8th Grade; Emilie Tanner, 8th grade; Kaitlyn Dial, 7th Grade; Sarah Thrift, 8th Grade; Maggie Delk, 8th grade and Nicole Valentine, 8th grade. This led to the question and answer portion of the competition. The emcee, Mr. Ed Flowers, asked each of the eleven lovely, young ladies a question related to her interests and activities.
The honor of Miss Congeniality, selected by the contestants themselves, went to 8th grader Maggie Delk. Most Photogenic, selected by the photographers of SWI Photography, was awarded to 6th grader Caitlyn Dubberly. The new title of Crowd Favorite, which is voted on by the audience, went to 8th grader Taryn Chisholm.
