Friday, November 11th was a special day at Williams Heights Elementary. Principal Staci Smallwood, students, faculty, and staff of Williams Heights Elementary School treated all immediate family members who had served in the military to a barbecue lunch catered by Hog N Bones. Staff members provided homemade desserts, and lunch was served in the Media Center. The weather was absolutely beautiful and the company even better.
Students greeted each Veteran, thanked them for their service, and passed out cards of appreciation. Veterans made name tags which detailed the branch they served in, and each badge was proudly displayed on a large banner. School Superintendent Jim LeBrun also attended the luncheon and enjoyed honoring this decorated group of men and women. It was a wonderful time of fellowship and patriotism. Williams Heights thanks these heroes for serving our country and protecting our freedoms!
