Stella K. wins State Fair Bear Writing Competition!

The Fair Bear Creative Writing Competition is a themed contest open to fourth, fifth, and sixth graders throughout the state of Georgia. Students submit stories to compete for top honors in grades 4 - 6 at their school. Stella K. won the competition, and her story, “Fair Bear Has Fun on the Farm” progressed to compete for best in the school system. She won the district level competition and was honored last year as the Ware County 4th grade system winner.

System winners from across the state were forwarded to the Georgia National Fair for state-level competition. The top three winners from each grade level won a trip to the Fair to accept their awards and listen as the Grand Prize Winner was announced. Stella was awarded the Grand Prize Winner, and Williams Heights was awarded the Grand Champion School Award!

Both WHES and Stella won cash prizes, and Stella won a trip to the 2016 Georgia National Fair! “We are so proud of her writing accomplishments, and look forward to reading her entry for this year’s competition,” said Principal Staci Smallwood.

The Ware County School System has had state winners for three years running. We are proud of our students and their accomplishments!
