Monday, October 8th Hurricane Michael Update

This is an update on Hurricane Michael. Based on information provided during the Monday, October 8th briefing with local EMA Director Jonathan Daniell, the Ware County area could expect 50-60mph winds associated with Hurricane Michael. The heaviest impact to our area is expected late Tuesday evening or Wednesday morning. Locally, we expect 4 to 8 inches of rain, with power outages likely. There is an increased chance of tornadoes associated with this storm as well. All school system field trips for Wednesday, October 10th and Thursday, October 11th have been canceled. We expect the storm to be cleared out by Friday, October 12th unless the track changes. Further EMA briefings will be conducted throughout the week, and official school system news will be shared on the Ware County Schools website and Facebook page

Thank you,

Superintendent Jim L. LeBrun
