Ware County Learning Center Partners with Community Members to Inspire Students

Students at the Ware County Learning Center recently heard from three inspiring, upstanding members of the Waycross community through what they are calling the Community Partners Series. The bi-monthly series will allow for students to hear from various community members charged with inspiring and encouraging the students, not only in their educational choices but also in their personal choices.

Pastor Raymond Burch and his wife, First Lady Lorna Burch, of River of Life Church were the first guest speakers in the series. The Burches, who have been regular visitors since the school opened in 2015, talk with the students on a frequent basis about their choices and their goals.

Judge Jeffrey Parker, who is the Juvenile judge in the Waycross area, was the second guest speaker to appear. Judge Parker encouraged the students to make wise decisions and reminded them that many of the decisions they make today will affect them for the rest of their lives. Additionally, Judge Parker gave the students some words to live by as they continue through the remainder of their educational journeys.

Harold McClain, Ware County Learning Center Principal remarked, "We want to put individuals in front of these students who will encourage them to make a positive impact on the world. We want to let the students know that they are all special, and they are all capable of being anything that they want to be. The choice is theirs."

The faculty and staff at Ware County Learning Center would like to thank Pastor and First Lady Burch and Judge Parker for their involvement in the Community Partners Series. If you are interested in partnering with the school, please contact Principal McClain at (912) 490-1055.
