Waresboro Elementary Hosts PBIS Celebration

Waresboro Elementary School's Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program focuses on creating and sustaining expectations and rules for the whole school. The framework for Waresboro Elementary's expectations is BE RESPECTFUL, BE RESPONSIBLE, BE SAFE, and BE THE EAGLE. The school hosts a celebration for students with no referrals at the end of every 9 weeks. For their 2nd 9 weeks celebration, students and staff welcomed Richard and Jackie Gillespie of Sparrow Chalk Art Ministries; they performed a black-light chalk presentation. Mrs. Gillespie incorporated behavior rules and expectations within her chalk art, with the final masterpiece being an eagle, the school's mascot. Students loved the presentation and were able to enjoy some fresh air while creating their own masterpieces with sidewalk chalk. Dr. Jenny Barnes is the principal at Waresboro Elementary.
