Wacona Elementary's Electrifying Learning

Mr. Jeffrey McCarthy’s fifth grade science students learned the components of a basic electric circuit.  They also made simple, series, and parallel circuits using wires, batteries, and small light bulbs.  While working with this equipment, the students tested various materials to determine whether they would or would not conduct electricity.  Lastly, they used wire, batteries, and steel rods to make electromagnets, which they tested by picking up paper clips. Wacona students enjoy STEM activities! Mr. John Chancey is the principal of Wacona Elementary School.
