Ware County School System Announces District Spelling Bee Winners

If you ask Chanci Ann B. what her favorite word is, she just might say "v-e-g-e-t-a-t-i-o-n", which is the word that earned her the title of Ware County Schools District Spelling Bee winner on Thursday, February 1st. Chanci Ann, a 5th grader at Center Elementary School, defeated Alexandra C., an 8th grader at Waycross Middle School, and will represent Ware County in the Region 8 Spelling Bee to be held on February 24th in Brunswick, GA. Alexandra will serve as alternate.

 

Other district spelling bee contestants included Rylee M. (Memorial Drive Elementary), Maria T. (Ruskin Elementary), Matthew D. (Wacona Elementary), Nadya D. (Waresboro Elementary), William B. (Williams Heights Elementary), and Savannah W. (Ware County Middle School). 

 

Superintendent Jim LeBrun extends congratulations to all contestants and wishes Chanci Ann the best of luck as she advances in the competition. 

 

 

Alexandra C. (Alternate) and Chanci Ann B. (District Winner) are top Ware County spellers.
