Wacona Elementary students in Mrs. Kim Tyre and Mrs. Brooke Dial's classes explored the relationship between heat and insulators. Students created their own insulation boxes out of materials collected from their homes and the classroom. In collaborative groups, students heated 150 ml of water for each insulated box and measured how quickly the temperatures changed. Then, they tested their hypotheses and graphed the results. The students enjoyed this STEM activity. Mr. John Chancey is the principal of Wacona Elementary School.
