Wacona Elementary WINGS Students Develop Waterworks STEM Project

Wacona Elementary fifth grade WINGS students in Ms. Fields’ class are studying the book The City of Ember and were challenged to create a pipework system that moves water between two cups a distance of two feet using straws, tape and cups. The winners of the challenge were Lindy P. and Lindsay C., who got every drop of water from one cup to the other. The girls stated, “We learned never to doubt yourself. Since ours was the simplest, we thought it would fail, but it ended up working perfectly. We loved working on our STEM project with Ms. Fields.”

Mr. John Chancey is principal of Wacona Elementary.
