Yearbooks are $10 if you preorder one.
In May, the price goes up to $15.
You can send in yearbook money at any time. Checks should be made payable to Wacona.
To keep the cost as low as possible, we sell:
-pages to 5th graders (similar to senior pages in high school)
-ads to businesses.
If you own a business, please purchase an ad in our yearbook.
If not, ask your boss about purchasing an ad.
5th Grade Pages
We are limited to only 30 pages.
To reserve your page, do one of the following:
1) Send cash or check (payable to Wacona) for $50.
2) Send cash or check (payable to Wacona) for $15.
The 2nd payment of $10 is due in December.
The 3rd payment of $10 is due in January.
The final payment of $15 is due in February.
(You can send payments in anytime. You do not have to wait until the due date.)
Instructions for Creating your Page
Creating your page is just like creating a scrapbook page.
Some people use photographs and arrange them on scrapbook paper. If this is easier for you, keep the following guidelines in mind:
-Use pictures that are clear. If you use pictures that you have printed out on your home printer, they will lose some clarity when they are reprinted in the yearbook. If you only have digital photos, get prints made at Walmart and use those.
-You can use either a sheet of scrapbook paper or a sheet of printer paper. Either is fine but it needs to be 8 1/2 x11".
-Don't worry about leaving a margin. Nothing will be cut off.
-Don't put tape on the outside. Either use double-sided tape or use regular scotch-tape and make a little tape circle to attach the pictures to the paper. You can also use a glue stick.
-You can write on the page with marker or pen. Pencil won't show up very well when I scan the page.
-You can add scrapbook stickers, even the dimensional ones.
Most of us have tons of digital pictures. If you feel comfortable creating your page on the computer, that's fine too.
You can create your page on your computer and send it in on a CD or flash drive.
I can take pages that are saved in the following formats: .jpeg (my preference), .pdf, .doc
-The page should be 8 1/2 x 11. Don't worry about leaving any margins.
-Make sure you are using the full size pictures and not a thumbnail version.
You can use Microsoft Word or Picasa. I have a page with basic instructions for how to create a collage in Picasa. I recommend Picasa because it is a free program and it is really easy to use.
If you have some other program that you are familiar with, that's fine as long as it will save your page as a .jpeg or .pdf file.
